SUMMARY:
The Knights Radiant must stand again.
The ancient oaths have at last been spoken; the spren return. Men seek what was lost; I fear the quest will destroy them.
It is the nature of the magic. A broken soul has cracks into which something else can be fit. Surgebinding, the powers of creation themselves; they can brace a broken soul, but they can also widen its fissures.
The Windrunner is lost in a shattered land, balanced upon the boundary betweenn vengence and honor. The Lightweaver slowly being consumed by her past, searches for the lie that she must become. The Bondsmith, born in blood and death, now strives to rebuild what was destroyed. The Explorer, straddling the fates of two people, is forced to choose between slow death and a terrible betrayal of all she believes.
It is past time for them to awaken, for the Everstorms looms.
And the Assassin has arrived.
“Honor is dead. But I’ll see what I can do.” - Kaladin
What I didn’t like:
As the title of the book is, WORDS OF RADIANCE! Everything in this book is radiant from cover to cover.
What I love:
For me, this is book is one of the best sequels of any book there is. I am not kidding. I’ve never read anything as good. Although, there was a part in the book where Kaladin is kind of cringe? Especially the part where he asked for his boon, oh Kaladin. I knew where he would just end up in after saying those words but other than that he was still the usual broody and dark Kaladin. Well let’s move on to the main point of interest in the book, which is Shallan. Shallan’s back story is really good and mysterious. She has become one of my favorite characters in the book and her chapters are always interesting and fun to read. Her growth as a character especially in her strength and confidence is amazing. I also love the dynamics between Kaladin and Adolin and Kaladin and Shallan. The love and hate relationship this three have is also a fun read. Also, it made me see Adolin in a new light. I didn’t really feel any sort of like or dislike of him in the first book but I was pleasantly surprise in book two. Especially in the prison part ( I don’t want to put so much spoiler) because it made me liked him as a character. And of course as usual, Brandon Sanderson always have the ‘Sanderlanche’ and he did not disspaoint, the last few chapters of the book always amazing and very intense, especially the fight scenes!
Would I recommend this book:
Of course! Five out of five stars! And you won’t totally regret reading this. Well, after reading The Way of Kings I am sure you would want to read this book.
